London: 5 Most Instagrammable Bars and Cafés for When You’re Craving Some Pink in Your Feed
There is no shortage of “over the top” photoshoot friendly spots in London – but let me introduce you to some really fun and literally “made for Instagram” locations. If you’re in London – charge your phone and let that basic millenial-pink loving side of your personality pay a visit to these little gems – or follow their Instagram accounts for inspiration.
“Joséphine knew what she wanted. She made her own rules and didn’t give a damn what anyone thought. She started as a nobody but with sass, hustle and a little bit of luck, she became the Empress of the French”. This is beginning of the tale that inspired the amazing Waterloo cocktail bar, Tonight Josephine.
At Tonight Josephine you are greeted with the infamous neon sign stating “Well behaved women don’t make history”. Instant girl power vibe! They serve a mean Porn Star Martini and a range of other delicious cocktails topped with candy and macaroons. Dance the night away in this sparkling pink heaven – I can ensure you the DJ will serve up tunes that will keep you on the dance floor.
Pro tip: email them a head of your visit to get on the guest list and sign up for their newsletter to get the first cocktail free of charge.
Peggy Porschen Cakes
How do you get an army of lifestyle bloggers to visit your café every weekend? By opening a cafe in millennial-pink heaven and baking cakes that look like edible art. The impressive decorations at Peggy Porschen Cakes helps too, and is changed every season. Not only does the award winning cakes look amazing, they also taste like heaven. Every little detail at this place is thought through – down to the design of the bill – which can end up being a bit high (but oh so worth it).
Pro tip: bring friends so you can all buy different cakes and share, and let the pink sugar high rush over you.
“Drunk on power, Napoleon almost achieved his goal of European domination, but he got himself exiled to the Mediterranean island of Elba. He took 600 of his closest mates and his favorite horse, Marengo, with him. He stayed there and partied for 300 days”.
Napoleon might seem like a weird inspiration for a colorful rooftop bar, but nevertheless, Bar Elba bring tropical island vibes to Waterloo. There is food, fairy lights, and the walls are filled with slogans like “Libérte, egalité, rosé”. And, more importantly; they serve rosé slushies, or frozé if you like.
Pro tip: 2-4-1 cocktails from 4pm-6pm, possible to book a table for drinks, and a free cocktail if you sign up for the newsletter.
Elan means “distinctive, stylish, confident, impulsive”. Their vision is to be the most stylish coffee destination in London. The coffee shops are decorated so that wherever you look there is something new and amazing to look at. Floral wallpaper, a decorated swing, coffee quotes on the walls and floors, and a cute bike with a flower basket outside – nothing about this place is left to chance. They serve delicious tea and coffee, neatly decorated smoothie bowls and avocado toasts, and have a cake selection that give Peggy Porschen some competition.
Pro tip: Don’t let your pink latté get cold while you help other girls get that perfect shot in front of the floral wall.
This historic Mayfair townhouse has four different bars with their own personalities, decor, menu and dress code. The most famous of them is all probably The Gallery, with it´s plush pink velvet seats, zig zag marble floors, a rose gold bar and colourful David Shrigley sketches covering the walls. Enjoy afternoon tea (boozy if you like) or a late dinner – your visit will be a feast for both your eyes and taste buds. They also have the famous and most Instagrammed toilets in London here.
Pro tip: Book an early seating and arrive early to get the best pictures of the Gallery, before all the other people arrive (it get´s quite full by 1pm).
